Job Description
Nursing- General Medicine/Surgery-RN - Pharmacist Working for the Best has its Benefits! Description I. Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, reviews drug orders utilizing a copy of the physician's order to create and maintain patient medication profiles; issues pharmaceuticals via unit-dose/IV admixture system; clinically intervenes into the care of the patient; supervises support/ student staff; participates in educational programs of the department Qualifications II. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist by the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy. Certificate as a preceptor by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy when eligible. B. Education: Undergraduate pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science or Pharm. D.) C. Experience: Minimum one year experience required. Hospital (pediatric) experience preferred; but not necessary. The candidate has to be willing to learn if not familiar with pediatrics or hospital pharmacy. Staff ranges from 10-15 years experience to 3 years experience, hospital and retail. Facilitiy is more interested in an overall fit rather than just experience. D. Special Qualifications: Must be highly proficient in intravenous admixture skills and have moderate proficiency in use of VDT/keyboard, electronic calculator and electric typewriter (type 20-30 wpm). III. Physical Requirements Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing simple IV admixtures, use of a computer keyboard). May require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes, and IV solutions and stooping or kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers). Sitting, walking or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary. Must be able to physically operate the equipment used for the job. The night shift / grave yard shift is currently 7p-7a working 7 on and 7 off. Louisana licensed only for now. Not the job you're looking for? No worries.
